Trust & Safety

Community Guidelines,
the code that keeps this good.

HuntNHook works because hosts and guests look out for each other. These are the standards everyone agrees to when they book or host a trip. Keep to them and the outdoors stays open, safe, and worth showing up for.

01

Safety comes first

Every trip should end the way it started. Safety is the one thing we never compromise on, for hosts and guests alike.

  • Carry a properly fitted life jacket for every person on board, and the safety gear your activity and location require.
  • Run a real safety briefing before you head out. Cover the boat, the water or terrain, and what to do if something goes wrong.
  • Call it when conditions turn. Weather, water, and wildlife don't negotiate. Rescheduling is always the right choice over risk.
  • Handle firearms and equipment responsibly, and make sure everyone on a hunt understands the rules before the first shot.
02

List honestly

Guests book on what you show them. What they find should match what you promised.

  • Use your own recent photos. No stock imagery, no borrowed shots, no old catches passed off as today.
  • Describe the trip as it really is: the boat or land, the gear included, the group size, and what the day looks like.
  • Price it straight. Show fees and add-ons up front. No surprises at the dock.
03

Respect everyone

The outdoors is for everyone. HuntNHook is a harassment-free space, on the water and in your messages.

  • No harassment, discrimination, or unwelcome comments toward anyone, ever.
  • Keep conversations professional and kind. A good host makes every guest feel welcome, first cast or five-hundredth.
  • Respect privacy. Don't share a guest's or host's personal information.
04

Keep it on HuntNHook

Booking and paying on HuntNHook is what keeps everyone protected. Off-platform deals put both sides at risk.

  • Never ask a guest to pay off-platform, and never offer to. Off-platform payments void our protections for everyone.
  • Keep messages and bookings on HuntNHook so there's always a record if something needs sorting out.
  • Report anyone who asks you to take a payment or booking off the platform.
05

Fish and hunt legally

Good stewardship is part of the deal. Follow the law and leave the resource better than you found it.

  • Hold the licenses, permits, and captain credentials your trips require, and keep them current.
  • Respect seasons, bag and size limits, tags, and protected species. When in doubt, don't.
  • Practice ethical, conservation-minded harvest. Take only what you'll use.
06

Show up and communicate

A booking is a promise. Guests plan their trips, travel, and time off around yours.

  • Be on time and run the trip you sold. Don't cut it short without good reason.
  • Reply to booking questions promptly, before and after the trip.
  • If plans have to change, tell your guests early and make it right.
07

Reviews are earned, not bought

Reviews only mean something if they're real. Guests rely on them to choose who to trust.

  • Never write, buy, trade, or incentivize fake reviews.
  • Don't pressure guests to leave a rating or change an honest one.
  • Report review manipulation if you see it.

When guidelines aren't met

We review every report. Depending on what we find, we may reach out for more information, issue a formal warning, or, for serious or repeated issues, suspend a listing or account. Warnings stay on a host's record. We keep the person who reported confidential, always.

See something? Report it.

If a host or guest isn't living up to these guidelines, tell us. Open the profile or listing and choose Report this host or Report this listing. Your report is confidential and every one gets reviewed.
